The climb up the steep, narrow lane is worth it, as the Danube Bend views from the two-hectare estate are breathtaking. True to its name, this restaurant follows a natural, ‘slow food’ ethos; locally sourced ingredients underpin the cooking and dishes are fresh, unfussy and vibrantly flavoured. The menus are decided upon twice a day as new produce arrives – come for the ‘Spontaneous Bistro Lunch’ or the tasting menu at dinner. This is a holistic place in which to stay, complete with a sauna, wellness centre and bedrooms; ask for a first floor room with a balcony.
