Staten Island is the most rural and by far the least populated borough in New York City, but also has a large Italian-American community. Have a pizza and enjoy the lovely beaches on the south shore of the island, such as South Beach, which has a long boardwalk; the beach at Wolfe's Pond Park is wilder. You can also visit Historic Richmond Town, to look back on the 17C-19C, and the exotic Museum of Tibetan Art: a lesser-known side of New York City, accessible by the Staten Island Ferry.
