In homage to Emperor Ferdinand II, Domenico Orsi designed the Baroque Jesuit College to an F-shaped floor plan. This splendid building serves as the backdrop for the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region (GASK). The – mostly contemporary – works of art are presented in an original way, in that they are grouped together according to contradictory or complementary themes, so a painting from the 16C might be hung alongside a 20C piece. Paintings, sculptures and periods are juxtaposed. Quotations feature on the walls between the art, providing further food for thought.
