Hilfreiche Informationen

Beschreibung

A must-see for all pilgrims before they climb, this Shinto shrine is the most important site dedicated to Mount Fuji (of the 1 300 existing in Japan). Founded in 806, the current buildings date from the 17C and were donated in 1604 by Tokugawa Ieyasu in gratitude for his victory at Sekigahara. Of particular note is the fabulous two-storey, thatched-roofed main pavilion (Hon-den).
