Tucked off to the side of the much bigger Taco Bamba, this dining den exudes intimacy and dazzles with green-and-black walls, hardwood floors, and a white quartz bar. The menu, a contemporary spin on Mexican fare, is equally impressive thanks to the talented Chef Victor Albisu. That single disc of a house-made chip served with a daily changing sweet-spicy salsa is great all day, any day. Other irresistible dishes include whole-fried cauliflower with mole verde and pato al pastor—a shareable plate of slow-roasted duck breasts in a pineapple-chile marinade. Ambition extends to the bar, with a comprehensive mezcal list and such intriguing cocktails as the Fat Duck Old-Fashioned, featuring mezcal, foie gras honey, and chocolate-mole bitters for a rich sip.
