It’s a family affair at this bijou spot in popular Padstow; experienced chef Tom Hine is back in his hometown after decades away and is joined by his brother Fred in the kitchen and his cousin Will as manager. Together, they run a friendly and likeable operation which is a café during the day but morphs into a bistro in the evenings. This is where the chefs come into their own, serving a tasting menu that showcases punchy flavours and Hine’s restrained creativity, in dishes like chorizo risotto with cured egg yolk. The Cornish cheese scone snack is a winner too.
