Ryôdô embodies Japan’s legendary respectful lifestyle in the heart of Luxemburg’s suburbs. The luminous interior and light wooden furnishings are suitably minimalist and the food is exquisitely served by women attired in kimonos who have a knack for setting you at your ease. It is well worth savouring this fervent admiration of tradition. The lunchtime score is either à la carte or a choice of kaiseki and bento menus, while in the evening, you can choose between Sushi, Vegan or Tasting menus. Chef Ryôdô Kajiwara delicately expresses the full gamut of Japanese subtlety, calling upon the pure-bred depth of outstanding produce, such as A5 wagyu and wild seabass, underscored by marinades and sauces. You will be surprised by a fillet of seabream cooked slowly in sake for a sweet-sour result that is paired with a subtle sauce of razor clams and mussels. You can also expect truly exceptional sushis, like a temaki of Otoro tuna, caviar and crunchy nori. An opportunity to taste the chef’s devotion and mastery of Japanese cuisine is a thrilling experience, which is further enhanced by the first-class sake list (we fell in love with the Junmai sakes).
