The Gold List 2026 by Condé Nast Traveler, featured in The Best Hotels and Resorts in the World; Oprah Daily’s Hotel O-Wards 2026; and the Hotel & Lodge Awards 2026, where it was selected among the “100 Most Beautiful Hotels in the World” for design, are among the international recognitions that have distinguished Ser Casasandra in the worlds of design, wellness, and travel. Long before the recognitions, there was a vision. Ser Casasandra is the home of artist, writer, and spiritual guide Sandra Pérez. More than twenty-five years ago, with limited resources and an abundance of inspiration, she began shaping what remains today a work of art in progress. A space built through beauty, spirituality, community, and creativity, where every detail has been thoughtfully chosen and where the experience continues to evolve day after day under Sandra’s care. In its design, the house is conceived as a living combination of vintage objects collected by Sandra throughout her life, contemporary artworks, artist-designed furnishings, and pieces by renowned creators. As you walk through the house, you encounter works and designs by Sandra herself, Ernesto García Sánchez, Patricia Urquiola, and Jorge Pardo, alongside interventions by artists participating in Isla Residencia, our community art project. Music is also part of this living work of art. From the Baroque and contemplative compositions that accompany the early hours of the day to jazz and the voice of Nina Simone as evening falls, music becomes an ongoing journey through universal culture. At the heart of the house lives AHAL, meaning “awakening” in Maya, the island’s first holistic center. Through therapies such as kinesiology, biomagnetism, integrative psychology, and water therapies, it becomes a space for inner awakening. AHAL was recognized by Oprah Daily in its Hotel O-Wards 2026 as part of its selection of wellness and transformational retreats across Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. In addition, it offers traditional massages and treatments that support rest and well-being throughout each stay. In our kitchen, the ingredient comes first. Led by Chef Andrés Fernández, considered one of Yucatán’s most distinguished chefs, it works with fresh ingredients sourced from local fishermen who arrive each day with their catch, as well as produce grown in nearby communities such as Solferino. It is a cuisine that honors the origin of every ingredient, the land, and the people who make it possible. Every detail forms part of this work in progress: the aromas, candles, flowers, light, gardens, linens, artworks, and silences. Nothing has been chosen by chance. Everything has been cared for with the intention of creating a space where beauty, stillness, and rest can be felt naturally. This vision has also fostered a deep relationship with the local community. Through a weekly program open to everyone, the house hosts reading clubs, curated film screenings, art workshops, meditations, and gathering spaces. For Sandra, the experience is not only found in the spaces or the objects, but also in the people — in the team that sustains the house through presence, integrity, love, and care. The experience of Ser Casasandra is greater than any description. It cannot be fully explained in words. We are deeply grateful. The truest recognition happens in silence: when a guest arrives, breathes, lets go, surrenders… and feels they have arrived.
